Fundraise
Turn doing what you love into something that changes lives
Ways to fundraise
Celebrate a milestone: ask for donations instead of birthday, wedding, or anniversary gifts
Get sponsored: for a physical, academic or creative challenge you set yourself
When running any sort of fundraiser for Arthritis Australia, we need you to check in with us to explain your idea. As a charity, we follow regulations set out in Australia and each individual state, so we need to ensure any fundraising on behalf of our organisation is following these. Send us a quick email at fundraising@arthritisaustralia.org.au to discuss.
Getting started is easy
Set up a fundraising page through our platform in just a few minutes. It’s free to use, and donations come straight to Arthritis Australia.
This platform will handle the admin for you, take care of the paperwork and automatically issue tax receipts to your donors. That means you can focus on your event or challenge, not the administration.
Tips for a successful fundraiser
1. Tell your story
2. Set a clear goal
3. Spread the word
4. Thank your supporters
A quick thank-you message goes a long way. People who feel appreciated are more likely to share your page or donate again later.

Fundraising on Facebook
Facebook makes it easy to fundraise for Arthritis Australia, for example, by setting up a birthday fundraiser. It’s a great way to get friends and family involved with just a few clicks.
There are a few things to know before you start:
- Donations made on Facebook go through a third party, the PayPal Giving Fund (ABN 65 106 950 945), and are usually transferred to Arthritis Australia within 90 days.
- Due to Facebook's privacy policy, we don't receive the names or contact details of fundraisers or donors, so unless you contact us directly, we won't be able to thank you personally.
- If you have any issues with a Facebook donation, you'll need to contact the PayPal Giving Fund directly.
If you’d like us to acknowledge a donation for a special occasion, like a memorial or milestone, we recommend using our direct platform instead, so we can recognise the person and the occasion properly.
‘Thank you for choosing to fundraise for Arthritis Australia. The money you raise brings us closer to a future free from the pain of arthritis.’ – Louise Hardy, CEO
