Making everyday products easier to use – We work to improve products and packaging so they are easier to open, use and understand by more people.
The Accessible Design Division is part of Arthritis Australia’s work to make everyday life easier. We partner with our community, industry and government to improve product and packaging design, and we share practical information that helps people understand the impact of accessibility in homes, hospitals, aged care and the wider community.
When something is hard to open, use or read, it can affect safety, confidence, independence and sustainability. Accessible design helps remove these barriers and leads to better experiences for everyone. It is especially important for people who have reduced arm or hand function, including those living with arthritis, chronic conditions, disability, or age-related impairments.
