All of us at Arthritis Australia were thrilled to learn that Ita Buttrose AO OBE was appointed Australian of the Year 2013. Ita has a long-standing association with Arthritis Australia, firstly as media spokesperson, then president (2003-2006) and, currently, Vice-President Emeritus.
While Ita has had a stellar career in media, this award is in recognition of her work in championing health and social issues.
Arthritis Australia is honoured to be the beneficiary of Ita’s commitment to arthritis and other chronic, preventable health conditions.

We would also like to congratulate Arthritis Australia’s Vice-President, David Motteram OAM for his Australia Day Honour. David has been on the board since 2007 and plays a pivotal role in guiding the work we do.
